Pilates Inspired Exercises: Bent Knee Fall Outs & Heel Slides

February 2nd, 2012

www.ProBalancePT.com for more info on how Pilates can be integrated as part of a rehabilitative or fitness program. Bent Knee Fall Outs and Heel Slides are another one of the most basic exercises I give to nearly all of my patients and clients. The purpose is to be able to stabilize the pelvis while allowing free movement at the hip joint. When people experience injuries to the lower quarter, they often lose the ability to dissociate the movement from these two parts. This or any other exercise should never reproduce pain. Remember that exercises shown on this video and on this channel are performed at the viewer’s own risk. It is recommended that the viewer directly consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new exercise program. Goal Setting Using information gathered during the evaluation, you and your therapist will establish a treatment plan and therapy goals designed to help you achieve recovery as quickly and safely as possible. Treatment Your treatment program will initially focus on relieving your symptoms and stabilizing your condition. This will be accomplished using a wide range of interventions to facilitate necessary physical changes. Treatment then progresses to strengthening and regaining maximum movement and function. Exercise and strengthening programs are tailored to meet individual goals and assist in this process. In addition, you will learn ways to prevent future problems and maintain health. Education Since your understanding and participation are essential to achieving your treatment goals, you will be taught strategies to take control of
