Two questions were posed by my mother about two years apart: 1) Have I ever been declared mentally incompetent? 2) I am forgetting, help me to remember. Both bring tears to my eyes. Learning to “care about” as well as “take care of” is a key in the book was different as a daughter than as a professional who works with this population. Anticipatory grief “grieving for the living” is difficult. How many times can you say “Good-bye?” I loke a quote in the latter pages–”Gain reasonable knowledge and put forth reasonable effort.” We can’t fix tis disease, we can only be present which transcends the body to reach the soul.
